Sweet zucchini blossoms


The beautiful yellow Zucchini blossoms are celebrated in Liguria and used in so many different ways: grilled, fried, breaded, stuffed, etc. but the Ligurians love it sweet and so the Italian "Nonna's" prepare these tasty flowers with a touch of sugar. Try it, because this delicacy is equally popular with young and old.



Stir the eggs with a pinch of salt in a bowl. Add milk and stir the flour in small portions with a whisk. Heat the oil in a large pan, turn the zucchini flowers in the batter and deep fry them until golden brown. Drain the fried flowers on a kitchen paper and sprinkle with sugar.

  • 15 zucchini flowers
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tablespoons flour
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • A pinch of salt
  • 2-3 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
